With the design of the Negative line, Jeffrey and Justin began the exploration of using classical furniture lines in a modern contemporary package. The Wilhelm Coffee Table and Alexander Dining Table take that motif to a different level of expression. The use of inlaid patterns alludes to the practice of marquetry in ornate baroque pieces to bring them to a heightened ornamental state. The simplifying of the patterns brings the tables a more modern feel.
